Wasps Juniors 53, Comets 45

A closely fought game from the first whistle saw Wasps Juniors bag a narrow victory.

After being 13-10 down at the end of the first quarter the youngsters came out in the second to pull back the deficit and take the lead at 26-20.

Much of this was down to some excellent defence from Lizzie Southwood and Molly Browne who managed to keep the dangerous Pam Taylor and Cara Monaghan at bay.

Wasps continued to keep the lead through the third quarter with excellent team play and precise shooting from Rebecca Barnes and Mel Mugford, but had to work hard against a strong Comets defence.

The Juniors kept their composure through the final quarter to take a well deserved and hard fought victory.

The respective Players of the Match were Emily Came of Wasps Juniors and Sally George of Comets.
