Marilyn Hobbs and Mo Watson were victorious in the ladies greensome stableford at East Devon Golf Club, writes Helen Chivers.

The weekend’s wet and stormy weather had left little mark on the cliff top course and Marilyn Hobbs and Mo Watson took full advantage scoring 38 points to win on count back from Linda Down and Shirley Pressey.

Rosemary Pratt and Nina Hawkins were third, two points behind on 36 points, just ahead of Ali Miller and Jacquie Lee on count back. Sally Stratton and Julie Sampson were fifth with 35 points.

Last Wednesday 42 ladies braved strong winds to compete in the Silver / Bronze Alliance competition.

The ladies overcame the elements to some excellent scores with Maureen Howard and Val Cornes winning with 41 points.

Jackie Lewis and Nina Hawkins were a point behind in second with Judy Robinson and Sue Fowler in third with 39 points.
