East Devon Ladies April medal and medal finals – Hobbs and Knapton take the honours

Marilyn Hobbs and Linda Knapton continued their excellent starts to the golfing year as they both recorded one under par nett 73’s in the ladies April England Golf medal at East Devon Golf club, writes Helen Chivers.

Hobbs took top spot in the Silver Division by two shots from Jill Miller who scored a nett 75. Sarah White was third with a nett 77, ahead of three players on nett 78 – Alison Corney beating Elaine Bright and Sue Fowler on countback.

Knapton won in the Bronze Division by three shots from Margaret Whitehead who recorded a nett 76.Veronica Lankester claimed third spot on countback from Elaine Whitehead and Angela Ward, all of who scored a nett 78.

The medal finals were also up for grabs on the day. Sue Fowler lifted the silver medal with her nett 78 and Linda Knapton’s division winning under par score saw her claim the bronze medal.
