East Devon golfer Eilidh Cameron is a double champion

Eilidh Cameron topped off a memorable June by being crowned the 2018 East Devon Ladies Veterans Champion, taking home the Caldwell Scratch Trophy in the process, writes Helen Chivers.

In doing so she became a double champion as she added the vets title to her club championship title won earlier in the month.

Eilidh claimed victory in the scratch competition with a gross 81, two shots clear of second placed Sue Fowler.

Shirley Horsburgh took third place on countback from Jane Atkin as they both scored gross 89, with Sue Burley and Elaine Bright one shot further back on gross 90.

Susan Carr shot a fantastic seven under par round nett 67 to raise the Freeman Cup in the nett competition.

Susan was one shot clear of Shirley Horsburgh in second (nett 68) while Barbara Mellor third place on countback from Sue Fowler who were four under par on nett 70s.

Eilidh Cameron took fifth spot with her one under par nett 73.
