East Budleigh still top of Exmouth Snooker League

PUBLISHED: 12:08 13 December 2018

With the Exmouth Snooker League now at the halfway stage in the season, East Budleigh hold a single point lead at the top of the table.

They sit in top spot despite losing at home to their nearest rivals, Police Social Club A. Graham Ward (52-8) and Kev Luxton (53-37) were level with Mike Delahaye (77-38) and George Webster (79(30)-37) after four frames, but the decider was won by Pete Abrahams (87-49).

Police A could have shared the top spot if they had toppled the defending champions, Conservative Club.

Mike Delahaye (71-47) and Pete Abrahams again (67-42) won frames one and four, but the match was lost in between to Iain Callander (87-38), Dion Newcombe (57-44) and Dave Lance (70-45).

This was only the Conservative Club’s second victory so far as they lost their earlier encounter on the Police C table. Iain Callander (72-55) and Dave Lance (77(29)-40) set up a fifth frame decider, but it was lost as Trevor Haylock went down 57-37.

John Evens (63-25) and Bob Alexander (67-60) kept the Police C third in the rankings.

In yet another 3-2 result, Police B scrambled their second win to date with John Spamer (72-25), Bob Horton (59-48) and Frank Kelsey (67-60) just pipping the two replies from John Parrott (54-41) and Eric James (64-22) of the Police C.
