East Budleigh Reserves had to settle for a share of the spoils in their last Joma League 2 East fixture with Sam Rice bagging a brace in the 3-3 draw with Exeter United.
A fine early save from Budleigh keeper Peter Hampton led to the Jays taking control and Tom Marker fed Ben Wilkes to set up Rice for his first.
Dave Radford, who was having a great influence on the game, found Jack Hocking to assist Rice for his second.
Hocking was denied a third by a soft decision and a penalty helped Exeter back into the game. In the second half, an unfortunate own goal brought United level and after that the game could have gone either way.
Ten minutes from time Marker played in Hocking to score his customary goal as Budleigh thought they had won it, but a late equaliser for the away side denied them.
