East Budleigh returned to winning ways after overturning a first half deficit against the University of Exeter in Division 1 of the Devon & Exeter League.

The Jays began well creating chances, but were unable to find the net and it was the hosts that scored ten minutes before the break.

Budleigh manager Matt Jones changed the formation to 4-4-2 and they didn’t look back; Hugo Demetre picked out Jack Greenslade who finished well into the roof of the net, his 10th league goal in 13 starts.

Budleigh continued to carve out chance after chance and were rewarded with the winning goal. Nathan Penhallurick hurled in a long throw and Jack Howarth nodded the ball down to Demetre to tuck the ball past the Uni keeper. Man of the match in a good Budleigh display went to Ryan Britton.

On Saturday, Budleigh host Alphington in the East Devon Senior Cup - kick-off 1-45pm.
