THE Exmouth Sea Angling Association's boat section finally took to the seas again recently, having been plagued by bad weather so far this year.
Members fished from the Algiers reef for multiple species through to the river Exe for those illusive Mullet. Moreover, for the first time, the event was opened up to include kayak anglers this year.
A good range of species were reported including: smooth-hound, whiting, dogfish, black bream, mackerel and mullet.
As is the ESAA way, everything not destined for the table was immediately weighed and returned from whence it came!
Exmouth’s Andy Dunn took first place with a fine mixed bag of species.
Dunn also won a £20 Exmouth Tackle Shop voucher donated by club Secretary Si Boeree for best specimen fish of the day.
Andy Toms took second place while Shauna Hole came in a close third.
More boat and shore events are schedule for the rest of this season and more details are available from the club website at www.exmouthsaa.co.uk
