Archant

The annual Presentation Day at Budleigh Bowls Club that is to organised to hand out the various awards for the past Indoor season was not blessed with the usual warm weather.

However, the elements did allow for the playing of the ‘round-robin’ which was won by John Relph, Margaret Avery and skip Di Dixon.

The shivering participants were more than grateful to be revived and warmed by a magnificent dinner prepared by Rita De Selincourt and Sonia and Paul Griffin.

Among the recipients of the trophies were Joan Shaw and Richard Cooper who secured the respective Singles titles.

Di Dixon received the new Brenda Dixon award and Rod Freer and Burges Stace took home silver for winning the pairs competition.

With the first of the seasons touring sides due to arrive on May 4, all concerned are scanning weather forecasts I the hope that play will be seen, fingers crossed!
