The Joma Devon & Exeter League made its belated return to action on Saturday with league tables revised after some clubs opted not to restart until next season.
The cumulative effect for those in Premier Division East was just five teams remaining to fight it out for the spoils and the action kicked off with a cracker, as second-placed Lyme Regis held Feniton to a riveting 2-2 draw.
Kentisbeare beat Dawlish United 4-0 in the other top flight game.
East Budleigh Reserves went down to a 6-2 defeat at Pinhoe in Division 2 East and there was a narrow 2-1 loss for Lympstone Reserves at home to Ottery St Mary 3rds in Division 4 East.
Exmouth Rovers will look to continue their strong restart at Dunkeswell on Saturday and a big ask for East Budeligh Reserves, who travel to high-flying Axminster Town Reserves.
