A surprising draw for Feniton at bottom club Chard Town Reserves still edged them a point closer to the Premier Division East title in the Devon & Exeter Football League.
Despite that result, Fenny extended their lead at the top to four points, as second-placed Lyme Regis went down to an entertaining 5-3 defeat at Dawlish United.
Lyme Regis play at Chard Town in midweek and then host Kentisbeare, while Feniton must secure a win at Dalwish United to maintain their lead at the top. If, however, Lyme Regis win their final three games, they will pinch the title.
The picture is a lot clearer in Division 1 East, where Exmouth Rovers have already bagged the title and they continued the fabulous recent form with a 2-0 win at Lympstone.
Cubby Tinsley opened the scoring with a majestic individual effort and a James Clarke penalty confirmed the points.
Elsewhere in the division, East Budleigh suffered a surprising 3-2 defeat at Lyme Regis Reserves and that allowed Otterton to move joint-second following their extraordinary 5-4 win over Clyst Valley Reserves. Chris Swancott, Jamie Cardwell, Mark Dunne, Cameron Brown and Gareth Davies scored for the Otters.
Axminster Town Reserves will seal the Division 2 East title if they can beat closest rivals Ottery St Mary Reserves at Tiger Way on Saturday. Axminster toiled a little before beating Exeter United 2-1 on Saturday and remain unbeaten in the league.
It is a tussle between Dawlish United Reserves and Winchester Reserves in Division 3 East, with both sides locked on 24 points, although Winchester do have two games in hand.
In Division 4 East, Ottery St Mary 3rds are the runaway leaders at the top and they compounded that powerful position with a comfortable 4-1 win over Dawlish United 3rds.
There was also an extraordinary game for Otterton Reserves, who, despite a Rian Hill hat-trick, went down to an enthralling 6-5 defeat at HT Dons. The two Otters played in midweek and there is a big game for Exmouth Town 3rds on Saturday, as they look for their first points of the campaign at Falcons.
