Members of the Exmouth Sea Angling Association took part in the inaugural Des Dunn Memorial Shield event, writes Simon Boeree.
It was a bright and sunny day with no wind that greeted boating members for the even staged in honour of former member Des who sadly passed away earlier this year.
He was a keen boat angler and so the Memorial Shield will now be fished annually in his memory.
Fish were very obliging throughout the day with the majority of anglers recording good catches of Flounder.
At the weigh-in it was Des Dunn’s own grandson who took top spot with a mixed bad of fish including a nice flounder of 2lb 3oz.
Second was Exmouth’s Shauna Hole while third was Des’ son Andy.
As always, all fish not intended for the dining table were immediately returned safe and sound.
