Archant

Exe III 1, Plymouth Marjon II 1

Without their influential skipper Emma Hulme and half the regular team, Exe fielded a bare eleven and emerged with a well deserved share of the spoils.

Exe made a bright start and this was rewarded with a cracking goal from Charlotte Howard off an effective lifted injection by Caroline Biggs.

After half time Marjons came back strongly and, after several spells of pressure, converted a short corner.

Exe battled hard in the closing stages to fashion a winner, but were forced to settle for the draw.

Goal keeper Sarah Jones was outstanding throughout making many spectacular saves and deservedly won the Player of the Match award.
