Madeira were edged out in a close, and entertaining encounter, by visiting Knowle.

Madeira received a visit from Knowle and the pair served up an entertaining, and close, encounter, writes Ron Stares.

It was the visitors who held sway during the first half of the match and, at the tea interval, they held a seventeen shot advantage.

Madeira pegged that back by nine shots, but it was the visitors who took the match honours, winning 147-139 (+8).

The best performing Madeira rink was that of Mavis Mears, Bryan Stowell, Catherine King and skip Charles Darke, who won their particular encounter by 11 shots.
