Exmouth Sea Angling Association held their latest match at Jacobs Ladder, Sidmouth, writes Bob Pennells.

The wind eased off, but the rain did not and heavy showers fell during the first half of the night and there were no fish to be seen!

As darkness fell there were some fish landed, mostly dog fish, before Ken Williams bagged a small eyed ray of three-and-a-half pounds. That lifted spirits, but sadly that was as good as it got!

At the weigh-in Garry Currie had a mixed bag of dog, pout, huss and rockling to take first place with 242 per cent.

Ken Williams was runner-up with his bag having dog, pout and small eye ray for a total of 198 per cent. Third place went to Ade Jones (175 per cent) with a pair of dog fish, one of which weighed 2.37lb to earn Jones the Best Specimen prize.

Others competing were; Mike Richardson (136), Garry Bowden (130), Nick Challender (125), Brian reed and Dave Fuller.
