The weather turned up trumps and provided the players and spectators with glorious conditions for this annual special day.

In the morning the finalists were Sue Miller, partnered by Alan Davies, who went on to meet Alan Rush and Brian Goddard who were successful in the afternoon.

The grand final was level after six ends with both pairs on 6 shots.

In the deciding end, Alan and Brian emerged as worthy winners and claimed the trophy.

A marvellous buffet lunch in the clubhouse had been laid on by the members and afternoon tea provided a further pleasure on a truly marvellous occasion.

Thanks to all who helped to make it a super success.

Earlier in August there was the Married Couples' Competition where Margaret and Reg Ringsell played in a thrilling final against Jackie and Peter Hardcastle which went to 10 ends with the final score reading 11 shots to 8.

As one member remarked with a chuckle 'Just a case of hard cheese for the Hardcastles!'

The regular and popular 'roll-up' afternoons are still in full swing and will continue for the rest of the season, with room still available for new members, so feel free to pop along and join us.
