Terror Pins recorded a surprising success when they stumped Woodbury Skittles League C Division leaders The Cricketers in a Feathers Inn derby meeting, writes SpursTom.

Both teams play their matches at the pub. Terror Pins took leg one, but the Cricketers bounced back to claim legs two, three and four to lead at the half-way stage by 16 pins.

The second period was in complete contrast to the first with the next three legs going the Terror Pins way by 22, nine and two leaving them 17 pins up with one leg to play.

The Cricketers won the final leg, but only by three and so Terror Pins sealed a 14-pin success.

Once again team captain Chris Gatter led by example to top score with Sue Gooding the next best for the team.

The other six members were David Hicks, Linda Hicks, Tom Pyne, Henry Yates, Irene Yates and Conrad (Mr T) Thomas.

For the Cricketers, the creditable Terry Clarke was the top scorer.

The Pins are at Aylesbeare in the league tonight (Thursday), and then host a Gerald Mitchell Cup tie against Nuts and Bolts tomorrow evening (Friday).
