Exmouth II were indebted to their last two batsmen to see them to a draw at Paignton.

It was 14-year-old Nick Bolt who emerged with flying colours as he was unbeaten on four with Matt Tarry unbeaten on two at the opposite end, the pair surviving the last three and a half overs together to see their side to 188-9 in reply to the Paignton total of 256-9.

Young Bolt, playing only his third game for the 2nd XI claimed a superb 4-57 from 15 overs.

Ollie Dawe took 3-37 and Tarry also picked up three wickets, his at a cost of 48 runs.

Bolt then came to the wicket from the number nine slot and was unbeaten after facing 37 deliveries.

The bulk of the Exmouth runs were half centuries from Lloyd Lowman and Stuart Cross who both hit 55.

On Saturday the 2nd XI travel again with a trip up to North Devon.
