Woodbury Under-14 see off Countess Wear

Woodbury Under-14s were 43-run winners when they met Countess Wear in a Bradleys East Devon Youth League game.

Batting first the Woods were led to 136-5 with Ollie Gibbon scoring an unbeaten 40 with five 4s and one five.

Ben Abrahams hit one four in his unbeaten 16 and there were double figure scores also for Sam Corney (10) and Harry Raey (10).

The top partnership was one of 55 for the unbroken sixth wicket between Gibbon and Abrahams whilst there was also one of 41 for the fourth wicket between Gibbon and Raey

In reply Countess Wear were bowled out for 93 with the final wicket falling to the final delivery Five Woodbury bowlers claimed wickets led by Elliott Mann (2-11) and George Simms (2-16); Kieran Feeney, Ben Abrahams and Gwyn Parks each claimed one wicket.

Young Abrahams held two catches and there was also a catch held by Feeney whilst wicket keeper Alex Giles held a catch and took a stumping. There were also no fewer than three runs outs!
