WOODBURY begin their E Division campaign on Saturday with a game against Whimple at their Town End home ground. The D Division has an odd number of teams in it this season and so, on two of the matchdays, the villagers will not have a league game.Woodbury sit out Saturday April 16 and also Saturday, July 18. Their second game takes them to Halberton on May 9 and they complete the season with an August 29 trip to Kentisbeare. The villagers are looking forward to a good year with the 1st XI under the captaincy of Mark Davis with James Taylor assuming the role of vice captain. The evergreen Kevin Miller will skipper the 2nd XI with Dave Allen as vice captain. Both teams are in E Division of the Devon Cricket League of their respective leagues. The early season "warm-up" matches have gone well. After a narrow defeat against Clyst St George, by 9 runs, in which Richard Hunt scored 120 out of 202, there have been victories against Exeter Civil Service - (James Kavanagh 150), Sunset, Kentisbeare and also Budleigh Salterton. Matt Plowman has done well with both bat and ball and most of the batsmen have made good scores. The Club will follow last year's policy of playing two or three Junior players in all 2nd XI matches and they are keen to continue to recruit new members of all ages.Anyone interested should contact either Kevin Miller, Club Captain (01395)232995 or Tim Greenslade, Chairman (01395) 232767.League FixturesMay 2H WHIMPLEMay 9A HalbertonMay 16No League gameMay 23H ASHBURTONMay 30A HonitonJun 6H COUNTESS WEARJun 13A Exeter Civil ServiceJun 20H KENTISBEAREJun 27A RoboroughJuly 4H HALBERTONJuly 11A WhimpleJuly 18No League gameJuly 25A AshburtonAug 1H HONITONAug 8A Countess WearAug 15H EXETER CIVIL SERVICEAug 22H ROBOROUGHAug 29A Kenn
