TOPSHAM St James Under-10s were comfortable winners when they met Thorverton.
Sam Warren and Matthew Dixon opened the bowling and conceded just one run between them with young Dixon claiming a wicket.
Next up Callum Davison and Dean Pym who both took a wicket although, like the first pair, far too many wide balls were being bowled. At the half way mark the Thors has 129 on the board.
Lucas Appleton-Pratt and Tom Veale were next with the ball and they both delivered excellent line and length whilst both also claimed wickets.
Chris Robertson and Jay Warren completed the bowling and, during their time with the ball, the latter, running the length of the wicket to complete a run-out with the Thorverton innings closing on 120.
Sam Warren and Sam and Matthew opened with the bat for the Saints and provided a steady platform with some disciplined batting and good running.
Davison and Pym were next but they suffered from a number of wide balls from the opposition bowling.
With the game effectively won by the half way stage it allowed Appleton-Pratt and Veale to open their shoulders, something they did to great effect, plundering 36 runs in their spell at the wicket.
The final pair of Robertson and Jay Warren had an interesting duel coming up against the pick of the Thorverton bowling. Warren struck three successive 4s and the innings closed on 215.
