Who plays who in terms of our four local cricket clubs on match day six of the Tolchards Devon Cricket League season

Exmouth travel to Bovey Tracey tomorrow (Saturday) looking to get straight back to winning ways, after Exeter ended the Maer men’s 100 per cent start to the Tolchards Devon League cricket season last weekend.

Injuries have hit the squad and they also have players unavailable and so will be forced to make at least four changes.

Skipper Richard Baggs says: “We do have injuries and people away so are missing four players which doesn’t help, but the guys coming in are all experienced players and I expect us to be right on it this week. Bovey are on the up so I expect a tough game as always against them. It’s about time we won at Bovey to be honest as we haven’t for a long time.”

Budleigh, who have won two and lost three of their A Division game so far, go to third in the table Paignton. Budleigh head to South Devon sitting two places and 18 points above the bottom two as the season reaches the one-third mark at stumps on Saturday.

Clyst St George, with one win and four defeats so far in their league season, face D Division East table-topping Heathcoat at their Knightshayes home. The Mid Devon men sport a perfect 100 per cent record so far with five wins from five outings.

Topsham St James, who have made a good start to their E Division East campaign with four wins and just the one defeat, travel to meet bottom of the table Thorverton 2nds who have yet to do anything other than lose in their five outings so far!

With the four top local 1st XIs all away in their respective Tolchards Devon League games, the spotlight falls on the 2nd XIs with Exmouth 2nds, who sit 14 points and one place below Heathcoat in the D Division East table, entertaining basement side Uplyme and Lyme Regis 1st XI.

Budleigh 2nds, who sit second bottom in the C Division East table having lost all but one of their five games so far, entertain fifth placed Exeter 2nds who will, start the game 15 points better off than the Ottermouth men.

Clyst St George stage their latest F Division East game at their Bohea Field home when they host basement side Shobrooke Park 2nds who have lost three of their four games so far and could not raise an XI for the other match!

Topsham St James 2nd XI are without a game, but Exmouth III play in the one F Division East match scheduled, and that is something of a local derby for them as they visit Woodbury and Newton St Cyres.
