Thomas cracks superb unbeaten century

Despite having only ten players, Topsham ST James Ladies’ put up a great show against Hatherleigh in a game that saw a superb innings from Claire Thomas who carried her bat for an unbeaten century.

TOPSHAM St James Ladies took to the field a player short, but still had enough to see of Hatherleigh.

The Devon Women’s cricket Association league game saw the Saints bat first and power their way to a very respectable 220 for the loss of just two wickets in their 35 overs.

Opener Claire Thomas led the way with a magnificent unbeaten 118 and there was excellent support given by number three bat, Emma Kislingbury, with a well-crafted 53.

Hatherleigh also lost just a pair of wickets in their reply, but their run count was considerably less then the Topsham effort with the reply closing on 123-2.

The Topsham ladies banked 17 points for their efforts with Hatherleigh taking half a dozen points from the contest.
