Steel-Flood plays part in Topsham St James Under-12 victory over Sampford Peverell.

Topsham St James Under-12s were two wicket winners when they entertained Sampford Peverell in a Bradleys East Devon Youth League match.

The visitors won the toss, opted to bat and got off to a flying start with one of their openers slamming a five boundary 37-ball 32 before retiring. The runs continued to flow to a close of 130-2.

All the Topsham St James players, except the wicketkeeper, bowled two overs. Alan Peter took a wicket and he and Louie Ferraro were the most economic.

The run chase was launched un grand style with Ben Steele-Flood scoring 35 of 20 balls including four 4s and three 6s.

Skipper Marcus Kay chipped in with a 22-ball 27 and Sebastian Steele-Flood slammed 23 from just 15 balls faced.

Aided by 35 extras the winning line was crossed with two balls of the 19th over remaining.
