EXMOUTH 3rds were thwarted by the rain with their meeting with Axminster abandoned after just an hour of action.

In that time, Exmouth had moved to 55-2 and had skipper Tom Sampford still at the crease, unbeaten on 27 when the rains forced the players off for the final time.

This weekend, Sampford leads his side to a Honiton side who start the day two places and 14 points better off than the 5th placed Exmouth 3rds in the D Division East.
