TOPSHAM St James Sunday XI were once again handicapped by the loss of the toss, however they had gone into their game at Plymouth wanting to field first, and they got their wish.

Nico Horne claimed the first wicket but it was 15-year-old Sam Cooper who took the bowling honours with a superb fivefer, finishing with figures of 5-29 in a Plymouth total of 123 all out.

Early order runs came from Nic Horne (17) and a superb half century from Alec Bosomworth, who went on to finish unbeaten on 64 from 83 balls faced helping his side to a vital victory.

The winnings runs, struck by Joe Tomlinson, were greeted with great cheers for the points will go some way to easing the battle to beat the drop in their Sunday League campaign.
