Topsham St James exited the McKinley White T20 at the first hurdle, beaten by Countess Wear.

The local derby was contested on a bitterly cold evening with play not finishing until almost 9pm!

Topsham St James batted first and made 133-5 from their 20 overs with a run-a-ball knock of 41 from Theo Miller in his first match for the club, the top contribution.

Ross Treleaven cracked a splendidly rapid unbeaten 33 off just 19 balls and Ben Ward chipped in with a 37-ball 31.

Countess Wear got home with five wickets and three deliveries left. Treleaven was the best of the Saints bowlers with figures of 2-21.
