TOPSHAM St James lost their Under-13 meeting with Whimple by just a single wicket in a match that saw Tom Richardson produce the goods with both bat and ball.Batting first the Bonfire Field side closed on 107-7 with left hander Richardson carrying his bat through the full 20 overs for an unbeaten 39. Adam Turner (17) and Sam Garner (16no) were the other run getters. Joe Burden (2-29), Marcus Gibbins (2-19) and John Bardot (1-6 in four excellent overs) were the visiting side's wicket takers.There were just two balls remaining when Whimple secured victory on 108-9, Adam Tanner (2-14) and right arm seamer, 15 year old Meg Hamlyn (2-26) being the most successful of the visiting bowlers.
