EXMOUTH Third XI were emphatic winners when they faced Exeter III in their latest Francis Clark Devon League game.

What’s more the side had an element of girl power about them as Exmouth CC ladies skipper Lucy Burch turned out for the side and claimed a four wicket haul. With Grant Northover once again amongst the wickets, he took a splendid 5-17 whilst Burch bagged 4-28 and Exeter were rolled over for just 90.

Julian Page the led the race for victory with a typically imperious unbeaten 54 and the other not out batsman at the close was Anish Chouhan with 24 as the side wrapped up a nine wicket win.

The victory keeps the Third XI hot on the heels of the leading pair. They head into this weekend’s half way mark of the League season with a game at Whimple II sitting third in the table, 23 points shy of second placed Clyst Hydon II and half a dozen clear of fourth placed Kilmington II.
