THE highly succesful Budleigh CC Community League, played during the summer months, has once again been graced this season by a Doctors XI.

The side is skippered by local GP, Dr Richard Metzner and the cricket club has enoyed a long association with the local medical men.

The current skippers predecessors, Dr David Evans and Dr Graham Taylor, remain members of the Ottermouth club whilst, in the 1950's Dr Gavin was an influential player and leading member.

Earlier still, Dr Semple was a great stalwart in the 1920s when it was quite usual for the good doctor to be summoned from the cricket square to go and attend a patient!

Budleigh Secretary Kevin Curran says: "We are delighted, and honoured, to enjoy such a long-standing association with the medical profession.
