TOPSHAM St James began their Bradleys East Devon Youth League season with a home victory over Honiton.Batting first the hosts got a good start from Tom Richardson and Jack Hamlyn who took the score to 30 before Richardson departed for 18.Hamlyn went soon after as did Eddie Roberts who was run out looking for a quick single.The later runs came from Sam Skinner (30) and Ben Ward (34) and the Topsham St James innings closed on 126.Callum Treleaven struck early in the reply having one of the openers caught behind - this one of three catches for wicket-keeper Mark Hattersley.Treleaven, opening the bowling with Adam Tanner, then removed a couple of other top order batsmen to finish with the impressive figures of 3-8 from his four overs.Sam Garner claimed his first wicket of the season before Paul Martin came on to take centre stage.Martin's second over saw him take a hat-trick to end with 4-9 from two overs as Topsham St James claimed a fine victory.
