Budleigh Under-11 continued their unbeaten season with victory over Axminster. Budleigh skipper Fin Marks chose to bat first on what looked an excellent Ottermouth wicket. Jack England got the hosts off and running, striking a number of boundries before faling to a fine catch for 17.

Skipper Marks was going well at the other end but the introduction of Alfie Booker into the Axminster attack gave the Budleigh batsmen something to think about!

Booker took the wickets of Ed Doble, James White and Alex Taylor cheaply and suddenly Budleigh were four down.

Joe Gore then joined his skipper and the pair began to steady the ship with Marks eventually retiring for a fine 33. Tom Oxland joined Gore at the wicket and immediately began to play his shots leading the side to their highest total of the season to date, 142-4. Oxland ended unbeaten on 32 from just 21 balls faced whilst Gore was not out 19 at the close of the innings.

Booker was the pick of the visiting bowling with 3-14. The Axminster innings was in trouble from the off as the Budleigh bowlers found instant line and length. However, to their credit, the visitors battled on and closed on 85-9. James Doble, Joe Gore, Jack England and Max Mezner shared the wicket taking and there were also a couple of stumpings from wicketkeeper Taylor.
