WOODBURY won their under-11 hard ball pairs meeting with Budleigh Salterton by 65 runs.

WOODBURY won their under-11 hard ball pairs meeting with Budleigh Salterton by 65 runs.

Woodbury batted first and made an imposing 213 for the loss of the one wicket as Michael Cooper and Conall Deehan-Jackson (29), Ben Matten and Alex Manning (27), Zac Machellan and Rory Haddow (19) and the pairing of Gwyn Parks and Jacob Machellan (38), all made healthy totals.

The one wicket to fall was a run-out. The Budleigh reply saw them finish on 148, with the primary contributions coming from the pairings of Will Miller and Ollie Baumber (15) and Luke Young and Elliott Horne (17). The Woodbury wicket takers were Alex Manning (1-7), Ben Matten (1-17) and Conall Deehan-Jackson (1-6).

Jacob Machellan had a direct hit to effect one of three run-outs in the Budleigh innings and there was an exceptional catch held by Michael Cooper.
