LYMPSTONE Cricket Club in collaboration with Active Villages, and the project’s Local Delivery Partner, LED Ltd, are to hold coaching sessions at Exmouth Sports Centre, starting at 12 noon on Sunday, January 9, 2011.

The sessions will last for two hours and will be held every Sunday for ten consecutive weeks until, March 13.

During the first hour, the session will be open to junior players (eight years old and above), will be coached by Dan Murnane (Somerset CC and Axminster CC Coach) with the assistance of several adult playing members from Lympstone Cricket Club.

The aims of these junior sessions are to stimulate interest amongst young people in playing cricket and potentially joining Lympstone Cricket Club.

For further information please contact LED Ltd, Outreach Manager Mike Anderton (01297) 35235 or .

During the second hour, senior players (aged 17-69) will attend coached sessions. Although the Club has over twenty playing members at present, it is sometimes difficult for it to find a full team for every one of the 15-20 non-league fixtures that are held each season.

The Club is therefore very keen to expand and to encourage more players of all ages to join. These coaching sessions will not only enable Club members to play better, and therefore enjoy the matches more, but could contribute towards a healthy expansion of the Club for future development.
