Local clubs have plenty of opportunities for young cricketers

Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Clyst St George, Topsham and Woodbury will field no fewer than 22 of the 102 teams that will make up the Bradley's East Devon Youth Cricket League in the 2013 season.

The League’s 2012 AGM resulted in the League publishing a list of the clubs who are entering sides in the various age groups.

Of our five local clubs Budleigh are set to field the most eleven’s with teams in seven different age groups.

Topsham St James look set to field five teams, Exmouth four and both Clyst St George and Woodbury three.

The Under-10 pairs section looks set to be the most popular with no fewer than 22 teams being entered with Ottery St Mary and Heathcoat both entering two teams is this age group.

The smallest section looks set to be the Under-17s where there will only be teams from Axminster, Budleigh, Honiton and Ottery St Mary with the latter being the main supplier of teams, the Otters fielding no fewer than ten and a girls team.

There are just three clubs set to field teams for girls with the other two being Sidmouth and Topsham St James.
