Lashings big game at Exmouth called off

Following organisational difficulties between Lashings and the Children’s Kit Trust a big game, set for the Maer ground, is off.
There was supposed to have been a charity match at Exmouth Cricket Club on Friday, July 16, but this has now been cancelled.
Richard Butler, Exmouth Club Secretary said: “The Club was first approached by the Children’s Kit Trust in February and immediately agreed to act as host. However, making contact with the event organisers and sorting out the logistics of the event has been extremely difficult and eventually, after talking to Lashings, it was obvious that there was no option but to call the match off. This is a great disappointment for the Club and cricket supporters in Devon as a few former world class cricketers, as well as current Devon players, may well have been present on the day with a promise to help with a Colts practice session between innings. Lashings have said that they are equally disappointed not to be playing in Devon this year and wished the Club every success for the future”.
