WOODBURY went down to Sidmouth by 46 runs in a Bradleys East Devon Youth League Under-13 meeting at Town Lane.Batting first, the visitors posted a healthy score of 134-4 from their 20 overs, led by the impressive Dom Bess (35no), Antony Dibble (16), Joe Fowler (12) and Dan Powell (10). The unbroken, 5th wicket partnership, between George House (8no) and young Bess, realised 60 runs. Joe Pyne, Tim Wright, James Roberts and Ben Parnell claimed the wickets for the home side, whilst catches were held by wicket-keeper James Neason and outfielders Riordan Deehan-Jackson and George Jarman (2).The reply got off to an excellent start with Roberts and Deehan-Jackson putting on 42, but wickets tumbled and it was only a splendid unbroken, final wicket partnership of 23 between Neason (1no) and Connor Windle (8no) that saw the hosts close on 88-9.Dom Bess claimed 5-4 including a hat-trick, James Briggs bagged a brace of wickets and there was one too for Lee Claydon.The Sidmouth catches were held by Barney Stone, Joe Fowler, Joe Griffiths and Dom Bess.
