Exmouth Raleigh launch Sunday campaign with Ipplepen win

Exmouth Raleigh were comfortable winners when they hosted Ipplepen in a South Devon League game.

The Maer ground faithful were treated to a whirl wind half century from West Indian Marques Clark.

Ipplepen were first to bat and struggled in the face of some excellent opening bowling from Michael Collinge (2-42 from eight overs) and Ryan Schaufler (1-4 from six). The first ten overs saw just 26 runs scored whilst three batsmen were returned to the Maer pavilion.

Tom Taylor and Olivia Young were next into the attack and both continued the fine bowling with the score on 84-4 after 22 overs when more bowling changes were made. Greenway (4-28) and Bolt (2-13) mopped up the bottom order and the Ipplepen innings closed on 146.

This years Maer ground overseas player Clarke then launched the reply with Patrick Hall and the pair were quickly on top of the bowling. Both reached half centuries in double quick time and, when the winning line was crossed Hall had score 66 from 42 balls and Clark, 61 from 40.

This Sunday Exmouth entertain Lustleigh.
