Exmouth II take their relegation battle to the last two games

EXMOUTH II remain very much in contention to preserve their top flight status despite going down in a rain hit Maer ground game against Cornwood II.
Exmouth batted first and were restricted to 96-8 with Roger Wesley (20) and Lawrence Greenway (19) responsible for the largest individual contributions with the bat.
Mike Cliff then claimed two of the four wickets to fall as the visitors strolled home.
The single point leaves Exmouth in a bottom two berth, just five short of third bottom Paignton, eleven shy of North Devon and 17 adrift of fifth from bottom Plympton II with any one of four sides still looking to avoid joining Sandford II in the A Division next summer.
On Saturday, Exmouth entertain the side immediately above them in a game that will surely determine their fate this term.
A healthy points haul and they could travel to Bovey Tracey on the final day looking to secure their top flight status.
The remaining games for their rivals in the battle to avoid the drop are; Paignton (at Exmouth and home against Plymouth), North Devon (home to Exeter and away at Sandford) and Plympton, who host Bovey Tracey and go to Sidmouth.
