Exmouth College's Under-15 Cricket Team are the 2011 East Devon and Exeter champions after beating Uffculme School in the final.
In the semi-final Exmouth were able to bowl Ottery St Mary’s King’s School for just 48. Ollie Dawe, who had had an impressive season with Exmouth, claimed four wickets whilst there were two each for Sean Butler and Joseph Marley. Dawe then hit an unbeaten 21 to seal a nine wicket win.
In the final Exmouth again bowled first and restricted Uffculme to 64-7 with Dawe, Butler, Marley and McDonald all among the wickets.
After the loss of two early wickets, Nicky Bolt and Sam Conway batted well moving the score along to 51 for 2 before Bolt was caught for 10 on the boundary. Conway finished the game with two huge sixes into the local river and he was later named the Man of the Match.
Mr Taylor, Head Coach of the College Cricket Team said: “I would like to congratulate the professionalism of the boys in both the semi-final and final, they bowled with control and accuracy and in the batting they worked the ball well into the gaps on a tricky pitch. For some of the boys this was their last chance to represent the college at cricket and they most certainly didn’t disappoint in the finals.”
