DESPITE a disappointing season Clyst St George managed some positive outcomes at their annual meeting, writes Conrad Sutcliffe.

Oz Besley will continue as chairman with Alan Walsh his new vice. Paul Laverick continues in the successful youth development role.

Although work and other commitments are proving difficult for Mark Couch to juggle he will continue as 1st X|I captain with the help of new vice-captain Nick Dubuisson.

A new mobile net is on order to complement the existing good facilities and James Watson takes control of the 2nd XI.

Said Besley: “We have got some talented young players and with the help of some of the more experienced guys I’m hoping for an enjoyable season for both teams and the club as a whole. We would like to extend a warm welcome to any perspective new members. We are looking for some new faces to bring in fresh impetus to all areas of the club. Players of all levels, sponsors or social members would all be welcome or if you would like to help our existing hard working scorers or umpires we would like to hear from you.”

Winter nets start on January 13 (9-10pm) at the Sir Christopher Ondaatje Devon Cricket Centre.
