Topsham St James Under-10's were six run winners when they met East Devon Girls'.

Topsham captain Alex Rowe won the toss and chose to field.

The opening pairing of Luca Pym and Yarr Safra started well with Luca taking two wickets and the pairing keeping the score to just four at the end of their spell.

Next it was Kitt Fenwick who opened with a maiden and then had just two runs taken off his second over whilst Seth Richold marked his first appearance with a wicket.

The next pairing of Alex Rowe and Jasper Rockey bowled well with young Rowe claiming a wicket and then debutant Josh Drew impressed with a maiden over whilst, at the other end, team mate Harry Meadows picked up a wicket.

The final Topsham pair of bowlers, Jack Puddiphat and Robert Deasy (another playing in his first match) each took a wicket and that left the Girls closing on 156.

The reply began at a steady pace through to a winning conclusion.

However, it was not a comfortable ride throughout as, with just five balls remaining in the game the Topsham lead was just there runs but Puddiphat and Deasy kept straight bats to see their side to victory.
