Collison leads his Budleigh Under-15s to victory against Sidmouth

Budleigh Under-15s were able to field their strongest side of the season for a derby meeting with Sidmouth in a Bradleys East Devon League game.
Skipper Harry Collison won the toss and batted and, after an early wicket fell Collison joined Joe Gore and pair added 60 before Collison departed for 45. Gore and Alex Taylor then added 38 for the third wicket before Taylor was caught and bowled by Will Counsell for 18. Gore followed for 11 before a quick-fire 21 from Ed Doble pushed Budleigh to a close of 136-5.
Sidmouth’s reply was hit by some fine seam and swing bowling with Sid Fereday and Bill Fearnley bowling their four overs each and , between them, sending back five batsmen for just 22 runs!
Harvey Sergeant hit a fine 58 to try and get Sidmouth back into the contest, but the Budleigh bowlers stayed on top.
Joe Gore came on and took a wicket to cap a fine all-round performance to go with his runs and he took a catch a catch. Jake Stubbings bowled some tight leg spin and took a smart catch and Alex Craib rounded things off with the two wickets as Sidmouth were bowled out for 81 leaving Budleigh victorious for the first time this season.
