Clyst St George went down by 60 runs when they met Dartington and Totnes in their latest C Division outing.

Facing a victory target of 214, Clyst were bowled out for just 153 with only Kev Coe making much headway with a knock of 42 whilst the in-form Chris Ferro struck the second highest contribution of 21.

The defeat, a ninth in eleven outings this season, leaves Clyst still rock bottom of the C Division table with six games remaining.

This Saturday they travel to Yelverton who sit second bottom, just three points better off. With third bottom Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough sitting on 117 points, 18 more than Clyst, Saturday’s losers will have one foot in the D Division.

Clyst St George II batsman Alan Welch was the star of the show as the Bohea Field team claimed only their third win of the Francis Clark Devon League C Division season last Saturday.

Welsh stroked his way to an imperious unbeaten 122 as his side successfully chased down fourth in the table Ivybridge IIs total of 259-3 to win by seven wickets!

Alan Johnson took all three of the Bridgers wickets to fall.

On Saturday the 2nd XI, now just 16 points from safety and third bottom Clyst Hydon II, entertain a Yelverton side that sit fourth bottom, some 38 points better off.

A repeat of the Bridgers heroics and the Bohea Field side will really begin to feel they can mount a great escape!
