CLYST St George suffered a seventh defeat in as many B Division outings when beaten by 58 runs at high flying Chudleigh.

Chris Ferro (3-19, Chris Cook (3-25) and Tim Downer (3-43), combined superbly to bowl the hosts out for just 149.

Sadly, that total proved sufficient to win the game as Clyst St George were then bowled out for just 91 with Nick Dubuisson hitting the highest individual score of the reply with 13.

The Bohea Field side have now fallen some 35 points short of safety at the foot of the B Division table, and, whist theirs plenty of the season remaining, it does look as if the team are destined for a long hard struggle.

This weekend offers a real opportunity to kick-start their campaign as they travel to a Chagford side who sit immediately above them in the table.

A victory and the Bohea Field side will close much of the 18 point gap that exists between the sides whilst defeat would leave them cast further adrift at the foot of the tale with the following week marking the half way stage of the season.
