The Clyst St George 2nds are still searching for their first win of the Francis Clark Devon League season.

The Clyst St George 2nds are still searching for their first win of the Francis Clark Devon League season.

They met a powerful Chudleigh side that had won every game they had played previously this term and did plenty of chasing the ball as the visitors racked up an imposing 301-4, declared, at the Bohea.

Amongst the carnage, Julian Welland was the pick of the bowlers with 2-57.

The reply saw wickets fall at regular intervals.

The previous week's centurion, Paul Laverick, fell for 15 and the only batsmen to stick around were George Randall-Johnson for 27 and Dan Takle, who hit the top score of 39 as the final wicket fell on 129 consigning Clyst St George to a 172 run defeat.

This weekend they will hope to finally break the run without success when they complete the first third of the B Division season with a trip to an Alphington side who will start the day in sixth place, immediately above Clyst in the table, a dozen points better off.
