RALEIGH maintained the impressive form shown of late with an emphatic victory over Shaldon on the Mear.

RALEIGH maintained the impressive form shown of late with an emphatic victory over Shaldon on the Mear.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl meant the class opening pair of Matt Tarry and Richard Arnold got first use of the new ball.

Both bowled an aggressive pacy spell forcing Shaldon batsmen to play and miss on numerous occasions. Bad luck that meant only one wicket was taken between them.

Andrew Buzza replaced Tarry and instantly got rewards with his accurate seam bowling. Buzza ripped through the Shaldon batting line up with Man of the Match figures of seven for 16.

Shaldon never recovered and with Matt Sargeant taking the last two wickets the visitors were all out for 63.

It took Raleigh openers Rob Lowe (28) and Roger Wensley (24) no time at all to knock off the runs required. Both were unbeaten in a 10-wicket victory.

Winning skipper Stuart Hart said: "I am delighted with the win. We have a great blend of youth and experience and a magnificent team spirit with a never-say-die attitude.
