BUDLEIGH Salterton Cricket Club Under 10s Softball Pairs team suffered their third defeat of the season when they were beaten by Woodbury at Ottermouth last Sunday.

BUDLEIGH Salterton Cricket Club Under 10s Softball Pairs team suffered their third defeat of the season when they were beaten by Woodbury at Ottermouth last Sunday.

As in their previous two matches their failure to score runs with the bat mainly contributed to their downfall.

The side's previous results have seen then lose to Clyst St George, scoring in response to the opposition's 204. Then, after Countess Wear made 184, the Ottermouth youngsters scored 114 and their other games saw them again conceded a tally in the 180's as Woodbury closed on 183 and Budleigh registered a total of 124.

In pairs matches each team commences their innings with 100 runs with five runs then deducted for every life (wicket) lost.

The club's aim is to get as many of its members as possible, within this age group, involved in competitive matches. There are eight League fixtures during the season.
