Budleigh Salterton's two senior sides comfortably won warm-up matches at Bradninch.

The 1st XI played their Premier Division counterparts at Kensham Park on Saturday and won by eight wickets having bowled the hosts out for 217. James Burke, Bob Dawson and skipper Joel Murphy were all among the wicket takers.

James Burke then smashed his way to a 74-ball 100 before being caught on the long-on boundary.

The supporting acts were from Bob Dawson (42), Seb Langridge (22no) and Howie Rose (20no) as Budleigh won by seven wickets with eight overs to spare in a 40-over contest.

The following day the 2nd XI also played at Bradninch where they batted first. Rob Newing on his return got a run-a-ball 38, Richard Arnold smashed 48 from just 31 balls and Lloyd White scored an unbeaten 119 as Budleigh racked up 281 in 40 overs.

James Plowman and Adam Jones then ripped through the home top order as Budleigh look primed to hit the ground running, all ready for this Saturdays league games, as long as the weather stays dry!
