Clyst St George lost a low scoring D Division East affair at home to Upottery, going down by two wickets.

Batting first, the Bohea Field men were bundled out for just 96 from 37.2 overs with only Steve Bourke, from the number seven berth, making any real impression, hitting 29.

The only other contributions of double figure scores came from number three bat Dan Kendall and number five Freddie Creer, both scoring 15 while there were also 19 extras.

Despite the low total, the Clyst St George bowlers, and some excellent support fielding, so nearly pulled off, what had seemed at the teat break, an unlikely home win!

Steve Bourke completed an excellent all-round game with the top bowling figures with his return being 3-28 from nine overs. Bertie Creer and Sam Read both bagged a brace of wickets apiece and, with Upottery on 86-8, a home success looked the more likely.

However, the tail wagged for Upottery as they edged their way over the line to win by two wickets with one ball of the 36th over remaining.
